About Michelle Startzman
I am an artist, metalsmith, enamelist, and teacher.
I am a native Arizonan living in Phoenix where I design and create jewelry, wall pieces and sculptures in my home studio. My work is influenced by close observations in nature, as well as the impact that humans have on the natural environment, the well being of other animals, and our constructed landscapes. I am interested in the evolution of human and non-human animals.
I received an MFA in Metalsmithing from Arizona State University after earning a BA in Photography and Art History from The University of Arizona. I am a high school jewelry and art teacher, and I also teach adult classes in the summers and a few workshops throughout the year. If you are interested in learning jewelry and enameling from me, check back on my website for upcoming classes and workshops, or you can sign up for my email list to get updates.
